Privacy Notice for Healthcare Providers
Effective Date: 28th July 2026 • Last Updated: 11th October 2026
Who we are
Find Care Compare ("FCC", "we") is a UK platform that helps patients find and compare NHS and private healthcare. It is operated by Find Care Compare Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15783684). Registered office: C/O Complete HQ, 2 Bridge Court, Kingsmill Road, Saltash, Cornwall, PL12 6LS. You can contact us at hello@findcarecompare.com.
Who this notice is for
This notice is for healthcare professionals, practices, clinics and pharmacies whose details appear, or may appear, on Find Care Compare - whether you joined the platform yourself or we listed you from public sources. If you practise as a sole trader or independent practitioner, information about your practice is personal data about you, and this notice explains how we handle it. It also covers the people who sign in to a provider or pharmacy account on our platform.
What information we hold
- Your name, practice, clinic or pharmacy name, and professional role.
- Professional registration details, such as your regulator and registration number (for example the GMC, HCPC, GDC, GPhC or Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland), and CQC registration and rating where applicable.
- Business contact details: practice address (including additional locations), phone number, email address and website.
- Information about your services: conditions treated, appointment types, published fees and prices, typical waiting times, and whether you accept NHS Right to Choose referrals.
- Publicly available review ratings and links to review platforms, including Google ratings for your business listing.
- If you sign in to a provider or pharmacy account: your login email address, the actions you take in the account (including each time you view or download the referrals or consultations we have sent you), and your acceptance of our Provider Terms, with the name, role, date and time recorded.
Where we get it from
- Public registers, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and NHS directories.
- Professional regulators' public registers, including the General Pharmaceutical Council and Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland registers for pharmacies and the General Dental Council register for dental practices.
- Your practice or pharmacy website and other information you have made public, including published prices for weight-loss and hair-loss treatments.
- NHS Right to Choose accreditation lists.
- Google's business listing for your practice, for its public rating and review count.
- Information you or your practice previously gave us, including through HubSpot or an earlier enquiry.
- Information you give us directly when you join the platform or manage your profile.
We tell you where your information came from when we first contact you, and you can ask us at any time.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use this information to create provider profiles so that patients can find, compare and contact healthcare providers, and to invite you to claim and manage your own profile. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR): helping patients navigate healthcare, and helping providers manage how they appear. You can request a copy of our legitimate interests assessment.
To fill in a profile from your public website, we use an AI language model (Claude, provided by Anthropic) to read the public pages and extract the services, conditions and prices listed there. The model is given only your public website content; it is not given patient data, and Anthropic does not use the content to train its models. Anything it extracts is shown as a draft for you to correct when you claim your profile.
Where you hold a provider or pharmacy account, we use your account details to run the account, to show you the referrals and consultations we have invoiced you for, and to keep a record of your acceptance of our Provider Terms, on the basis of the contract between us.
Where we send you marketing by email, we do so in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and once you opt out we will not send further marketing emails to that address. We keep a record of each unsubscribe so that we honour it permanently.
Unclaimed profiles
If we create a profile for your practice before you have claimed it, that profile is hidden from search engines until you claim it. You can claim your profile to manage it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove it entirely.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run our platform: our hosting provider (Hostinger), our email delivery provider (Resend), our business email provider (Microsoft 365), Google (for the business rating lookup described above), Anthropic (for the profile extraction described above) and, for the pharmacy comparison service, our database provider (Supabase). Your public profile is, by design, visible to patients. We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep profile information while your profile is live or available to claim. If you ask us to remove your profile or stop contacting you, we keep the minimum details needed to make sure we honour that request permanently. Records of your acceptance of our Provider Terms, and the log of who viewed or downloaded referral records, are kept for six years after the agreement ends, because that is how long a claim under it can be brought.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your information, and to object to or restrict our use of it. To have your profile removed, email hello@findcarecompare.com with the subject "Profile removal". To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or contact us at the same address.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office or call 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice if how we handle provider information changes, and show the date of the latest version here.
For information about how we handle personal data across the rest of our website and services, read our general Privacy Policy.
